b. Automatically Collected Information. When you visit our website, we may collect certain data automatically through cookies or analytics tools: IP address; browser type; device type; pages visited and time spent on the site; referring URL.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to: respond to your inquiries and provide accounting and tax services; process document uploads and securely manage client records; comply with legal and regulatory requirements; improve the functionality, security, and user experience of our website; and send you relevant updates or communications (you may opt out at any time). We retain personal information in accordance with our records retention policy and applicable law, and securely destroy it thereafter.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share your information with: trusted third-party service providers who support our operations; legal or regulatory authorities when required by law; other parties with your explicit consent; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets. All third-party service providers are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to Kauffman CPA PLLC, and they are obligated to maintain confidentiality of your information.
Clients of the firm receive a separate privacy notice under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, provided with our engagement letter, describing our treatment of nonpublic personal information. That notice governs client financial and tax information.

We implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data, including: encrypted client portals and communications; multifactor authentication for staff access; secure data storage on U.S.-based servers; and ongoing staff training on data privacy and cybersecurity. However, no system is entirely secure and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights: request access to the personal information we hold about you; request correction or deletion of inaccurate data (subject to regulatory retention requirements); opt out of marketing emails by following the unsubscribe link. Our website may contain links to third-party sites (e.g., client portals, scheduling software, payment processors). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. Please review their privacy notices separately. Our website does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals.
8. Children’s Privacy
Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children through our website. In the course of providing tax services, we receive information about clients’ dependents from the clients themselves; we protect that information as client information under our privacy practices and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act notice described above. If you believe a child has provided information to us directly through the website, please contact us immediately.
